Elli Caunitis is a driven and eager emerging theatre professional who recently graduated from Montclair State University with a BA in Theatre Studies, with a concentration in Stage Management. Following her graduation in spring 2026, Elli will join the Santa Fe Opera’s 2026 cohort of technical apprentices in production and music services. In the fall of 2026, Elli will move to Orlando, Florida, to join the Universal Resort, Destinations and Experiences team as an Assistant Stage Manager for holiday performances and events. At Montclair State University, Elli served as the production stage manager for six mainstage productions and as an assistant stage manager for two. In addition to her stage management credits, Elli has taken on roles in special events coordination, office assisting, assistant directing, sound design, and production management. In her final semester, Elli served as a teaching assistant for Intro to Stage Management. Previously, she worked with the historic Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina, as a production assistant and stage manager.
Elli plans to further her skillset in theatrical management, seeking to hone her abilities and expand her career opportunities. She is specifically interested in nontraditional entertainment opportunities and large-scale events and experiences. Her favorite theatrical opportunities are those rooted in innovation and reflection. Elli is excited to go on tour and explore the world one day! Outside of the theatre, she enjoys making coffee and working on creative craft projects. Fun fact: Elli is a triplet and, before transitioning to management, spent 13 years dancing competitively.
